Sessions, Fees & Funding

Sessions & Opening Times

Open Monday - Friday

7.45 am - 6.00 pm

We are open 51 weeks a year (closing for 1 week at Christmas)

At Loversall we always endeavour to keep our fee increases as low as possible and for this reason our fees remain competitive when compared to other nurseries in the area. However, the cost of living crisis continues to affect Nursery, as I know it does many of you, and substantial increases to our utilities, food, cleaning costs and staffing costs means that this year, regrettably, we have no alternative other than to raise our fees to cover these amounts.

Morning sessions - From 7.45am until 1.00pm (includes breakfast, mid-morning snack and lunch)

Afternoon sessions - From 1.00pm until 6.00pm (includes mid-afternoon snack and tea)

Full day sessions - From 7.45am until 6.00pm (includes all meals)

Fees From April 2026

At Loversall we always try hard to keep our fee increases as low as possible and for this reason our fees remain competitive when compared to other nurseries in the area.

From the 1st April 2025 our nursery fees are charged as follows and children may attend for either morning, afternoon or full day sessions:

The above fees include all meals and drinks.

It is simple for parents to work out the amount of their monthly Standing Order payment for unfunded children by the following calculation: - (Cost of all sessions attended in 1 week x 52) ÷ 12 = monthly payment.

A 5% sibling discount is available if two or more children attend nursery. This discount applies to the child attending for the least sessions, or to the eldest child if both children attend for the same sessions.

A late collection charge of £7.50 per 15 minutes will be applied to a child’s account in the event that the child is not collected on time and no alternative arrangements have been made with the nursery owner or manager.

Funding Options

From September 1st, 2025, eligible working parents in England can receive up to 30 hours of government-funded childcare per week for children aged from 9 months up to school age.

For children who are accessing Early Years Funded sessions, I confirm that the care and education element of these sessions will continue to be offered totally free of charge, with the only charge being made for meals and consumables/ resources which are not covered by the funding.

There will be a very small (25p per half day) increase in the cost of meals to cover the rise in the cost of food, energy and domestic staff salaries.

Consumables:

Meals will now be charged at £4.25 for an AM session and £3.25 for a PM session.

Consumables/resources will continue to be charged at £2.00 per half-day session or part thereof.

Therefore, for fully funded sessions, the cost for meals and resources with effect from the 1st April 2026 will be:

The minimal charge that we make for consumables means that we are able to provide all children with a range of high-quality resources, which are typically in addition to the resources that we already supply, as standard, to meet the requirements of the EYFS.

I would also like to take this chance to remind parents that there is now a significant degree of Government funding and help towards payment of childcare fees in many cases. This is in addition to the new Funded Childcare incentive. I do believe that some of our parents are not making full use of this help, and I would urge all of our parents to look at the Childcare Choices Website and familiarise themselves with the help available.

The website www.Beststartinlife.Gov.UK is a wonderful service that offers an insight into the funding options that are available, as well as signposting to help, including:

Universal Credit

For families on lower incomes Universal Credit can help to pay toward 85% of eligible childcare costs.

Tax Free Childcare

The Government will pay £2 into your Tax-Free Childcare account for every £8 that you put into the account, up to a maximum of £2,000 per annum. Effectively this equates to a saving of 20% on the cost of eligible childcare up to a maximum of £10,000 per year.

30 Hours Free Childcare

Currently all children are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare each week from the term after their 3rd birthday, regardless of the families financial situation. This scheme operates for 38 weeks of the year but at Loversall we stretch the funding across all 51 weeks of the year that we are open.

In addition under the new incentive many children now become eligible for this funding from the term after they turn 9 months of age subject to the qualification criteria. Generally:

Each parent in the household can earn up to £100,000 per annum,

Both parents must be working and earning the equivalent to 16 hours per week on National Living Wage

There is no upper cap on savings.

We will automatically contact parents who have children in the appropriate age group and guide them through the funding application process.  However, in the meantime we would urge all parents, that have not already looked at the Best Start in Life website, to do so and see if they are eligible for further help with their fees.
